This innovative system combines advanced 3-D computer graphics technology with the 100-year-old science of orthodontics to provide our teen and adults patients with a flexible treatment option that fits their busy lifestyle. Not only is Invisalign virtually undetectable, it’s also a comfortable and convenient way to straighten your smile.

What does Invisalign treatment with your Oxnard Invisalign specialists include?

Invisalign is an innovative system that uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gradually move your teeth and jaw into alignment. This will also improve your overall oral health. Your Oxnard Invisalign treatment begins with x-rays, pictures, and digital impressions. These are used to produce a 3D image plan that will include all the movements we want your teeth to make and an estimate of how long we expect your treatment to take. Using this 3D image, Dr. Lee will create a customized treatment plan for you, and you may even be able to see a virtual representation of the movements your teeth will make throughout the Invisalign process!

Once we’ve developed an individualized treatment plan for you, a series of aligners will be created specifically for your smile. These smooth plastic trays are constructed of a special thermoplastic resin that is strong enough to move the teeth into alignment over time. When worn as directed, Invisalign aligners are just as effective as traditional braces at treating many of the most common orthodontic issues.

How does treatment with Oxnard Invisalign work?

The first Invisalign aligner you receive will basically be a slightly straighter version of your current smile. Aligners will completely cover your teeth, but the custom fit is so comfortable that you’ll barely notice them. Thanks to their clear design, nobody else is likely to notice them, either!

Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours every day throughout the course of treatment. Generally speaking, they should only be removed to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. The Invisalign system depends on your commitment to the process to work properly! If you don’t wear your aligners as recommended by Dr. Lee, they will not have a chance to move your teeth, and they won’t be able to deliver the results you want.

Following the first aligner, you’ll change out each new set approximately every 1-2 weeks. Every subsequent aligner will be a slightly straighter version of the last set, allowing your teeth to gently shift into a perfectly aligned, beautifully functional smile over time!

How long will treatment with Oxnard Invisalign last?

Like traditional braces, Invisalign works to gradually straighten the teeth over a period of time. To check your progress and ensure your treatment is on track, we’ll schedule follow-up appointments for you with Dr. Lee every 8-10 weeks or so. Because every smile is different, and each patient responds to treatment in their own way, there is no “one-size-fits-all” answer for how long Invisalign treatment will take. However, the average total treatment time with Invisalign tends to be somewhere around 9-15 months, and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 10 and 50. Both of these figures will vary from case to case.

Who is a good candidate for Invisalign treatment with Oxnard Invisalign?

Many orthodontic issues can be successfully corrected with Invisalign, but some cases may be severe or complex enough that they will require more precise tooth control than a removable aligner can achieve. The Invisalign system is at its most effective when treating mild to moderate cases of the most common orthodontic issues. After an initial complimentary consultation, Dr. Lee will be able to will determine if Invisalign would be a good fit for your particular issues, or if a more traditional orthodontic approach would be better.
